Hi,

I haven't posted for a while so here's an update of what I've been doing. Still studying hard with lots to work on, but I did my first landscape a few weeks ago. That was great! standing in the sun painting, it can't get better than that!! ......when the English summer decides to come back I'll do some more. Otherwise its all studio based stuff, portraits and still life studies. Hope you like it, as usual any feedback and pointers would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Tim

The last three are my favorites. The portrait of the woman - did you really look to see the colors, or did you paint the color you thought caucasian (sp?) flesh should be? There is nothing as surprising as small t truth. Try really looking, and trust your own eye (given that you scan and compare).

The final three postings, however, show just how much potential you have...and now it begins.

Hi,
Thanks for the comments.....Maxine: :) I think your right, the flesh tones don't look right, I've posted some new portraits below, hopefully its getting better. One of the really hard things I have found is the changing light conditions from one sitting to the next and even during a sitting itself. One of the many challenges of portrait painting!
Similar mix below. The two main portraits were 5 sittings at three hours each. The rough portrait sketch was about 1 hours 30.
Hope you like them.
