Hey guys, if your reading this your probably living in what should be called the uninteresting mob that is Colorado. I love it here, that was just a figure of speech. Unfortunately, as I have been obsessively researching, there is literally nothing here that could amount to schools in say, California or New York. Unless we all group up, riot, bitch, piss, and moan until someone starts to invest in the entertainment industry, well all have to make due with what there is. I can say the Art Institute, as I have seen here and heard from students at Metro State, is a complete rip off. Metro State has a decent art program, but expect to teach yourself a lot about concept art and illustration from literature and the related if you go there ( which is where I am ). CU Denver has a 3d Animation program, it is overpriced and focuses mainly on medical simulations. Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design I know little about, from what I can tell it isn't ideal. Most universities and community colleges, Ive found, seem to have little in terms of art. Barnes and Nobles, the Denver Public Library, Amazon.com, The Gnomon Workshop, and of course our beloved Conceptart.org have been the number one source of information for me thus far. If any of you die hard Coloradans have any advice, do share we can feed off of eachother. Otherwise, stay motivated, keep researching, and try to develope enough to possibly get scholarships to some of the more renouned art and design schools. I dont mean to bare this message as a downer, Im simply trying to answer some of the answers Ive discovered to frequently visible questions. Oh, I do recommend checking out some of the online degree options. They are lonely, cold, and probably bitter, but perhaps they can also be very helpful (especially since you wont talk to anyone and instead draw all day). I got to go to be so I can shovel all day tomorrow on E-470, Im sure you all know those money swindling hogs who are no better than the common bandit, tolling you everytime you want to attempt to get somewhere fast. PEACE.

You did not look hard enough, Colorado has one of the first schools to offer Game Art and Design, though not the best. However Currently My school, Westwood College offers a hadfull of talented teachers One of them being Brandon Bendert who works for marvel, Blizzard and ILM. I have no clue to what your talking about, if you want to move than yes I suggest other schools, but for what you say "there being jack in Colorado is not true" I have learned a lot at Westwwod not because of the quality of the school but because of the instructors! Any artist knows that they should research schools and interview students on how their current instructors are! It also depends on what you want to get into, If it is animation Then Westwood college North campus has a couple great instructors as well, plus the classes are usually small..sometimes.. Being 15 to 30 students.

Look a bit harder mate. I go where I find quality instructors that push me, Westwood has this for me. Though I dont know how long these instructors will remain at westwood, hopefully forever!
