The pirate ship is my first non-sketch, actually finished work with my wacom, so keep that in mind, I'm still learning lol. I have no real life painting experience so not only am I familiarizing myself with the technique of digitally drawing, but I am learning how to draw with color which is new to me. I'd like some critique on what I've accomplished so far and perhaps give a few helpful general rules that i could apply..
About the work: all are part of a fantasy/sci-fi universe based on the movie Treasure Planet, and a role playing game that is an extension of it.
My intention was to mimic the style of the movie and fit the universe by blending old with new. 1700/1800s technology with modern or futuristic tech.

^ Pirate ship. In the future will add personnel and hopefully make a nicer looking background. but for now it is finished

^ Alien directed energy pistol thing, similar to those seen in one scene in Minority report, although I invision this being more lethal.

^ 7.62mm automatic machine-pistol. Based on the Mauser C96 basically, but modified to be cooler.
Suggestions and Critique would be helpful :)
