Look at that yellow dumbo squid. Its so cwute. :D And aside from that, I really dig that dragonfish there, as it resembles so much of an eastern dragon.
Thanks for the link.

holy shit, I love these deep sea creatures. They look so alien, especially when they have a space like backdrop, theres a concept right there.

NICE link!! I hope in my lifetime, they'll get to go all the way to the bottom of the sea. Things just keep getting cooler and cooler on the way down.

Cool!
Fantastic images. There was a David Attenborough programme, Blue Planet which featured all these types of creatures, amazing!

People have already been to the deepest known point in the sea (Challenger Deep (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenger_Deep)), magicgoo. There's simply been very little detailed study down there, since it's a rather difficult place for humans to be, to put it mildly.

The first unidentified species one just wants some love, all it's asking for is just one kiss.
Awesome photos.
I really want to name Marrus Orthocanna the 'Foxglove Fish', even if they name it something else that's what I'm calling it, and no one can tell me otherwise, dammit!

The Dumbo Octopus reminds me off the little blob from the Brackenwood flash cartoons

So interesting how alien things from the deep jungle, or deepest parts of the ocean can seem so alien, yet not be.

They give them to Thai women in Bangkok. Well, that's what the videos I've seen suggest at least.

I was seriously studying to become a marine biologist in high school.
If I ever saw something like these while in a submersible I would break the Submariners speed record gettig out of there.

What's even more interesting...
The creature design for the alien in "Alien", "Aliens", "Alien 3", and "Alien Resurrection" came directly from a creature in the deep sea. It looks exactly like it!
I remember reading it hooks into the host and lays it's young inside, wherein they burst from the belly as well.
However, they are extremely tiny!
Fun times!

Beautiful things. I remember watching a documentary on deep sea creatures. Massaive glowing eels with rows of lights...very inspirational stuff when it comes to creature design!
