I was sort of going for a timeless quality to her look. Either futuristic alien or old high fantasy. I suppose the sight on the bow sort of gives it away. But overall I wanted it to be ambiguous as to what era she might fit in, genre wise. Definitely wanted her to look exotic, though.

Any and all feedback always welcome.

lovely colours and texture but her face seems somewhat flat?
The bow perspective and bow hand just dont make sense to me..

nice work on the costume.
the things coming off of it could use some volume though.

the face looks a little odd right now.
i'm guessing it was done without reference?
a good reference image would help.

the bottom of the costume is really flat with no color variation.
also the line of the bow and the arm are colliding in such a way that it's hard to distinguish where the bow is.
i think a more upright arm would help that and look better for the composition.
lastly, the shoulder on the left is flattening out too which is making the anatomy look odd.

sorry for all the crits!

The sky and figure or rather silhouette are amazing. It would be nice to see some repitition of the patterns you have in the chest area down in the leg area.. I can see it in my mind, but am unsure whether or not that would distract from the composition and draw the eye towards unwanted focal points. I really like the upper portion of the figure.

She appears to have a very short neck.

Spudstudios- Thanks for the feedback!

mwillustration- Thank you! All good points. I'll see what I can do.

angryswine- Thank you! I had initally considered repeating the designs all the way down. I just my do that now. And using layers I don't need to commit to anything if I try it and don't like it :)

Sevan- See below.

Based on Spudstudios observations (and from elsewhere) I've been having another go at the bow area. Hopefully it will be a little more clear. I thought I'd also try and come up with something a little different for the bow. As for the face, it isn't based on reference. But I intentionally wanted to try and give her an overly exotic appearance. As if she might be an alien or some high elf, or somesuch. Just pushing some boundaries on facial anatomical relationships, to be different. It might look like she's got no neck becuase I had her chin tucked down into her neck and what with the neck piece, perhaps that might be adding to the illusion of no-neck? Maybe that's another area I could explore a bit more, though.

I'm still working on it, but since folks are commenting I thought I'd post a progress shot.

Thanks again guys!

the bow and arrow is looking much better.
i like the added arrow holster too.

i know you haven't gotten to this yet, but maybe try and get a pair of football shoulder-pads to help reference what the should on our left should look like.

looking good...

Thanks Michael.

Good idea with the shoulder pads. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get my hands on any. But I'll be taking another look at that area soon no matter what.

Eric, there's a lot I like about this, but I wish there was more dynamism to her pose: hips forward, shoulders back, back arched, so that her body language matched her bad-ass expression. Also, I think the cropping is a little too tight on the bottom. Here's a quick sketch to show you what I mean.

Agreed, Tristan.

I started this one by just throwing down some blobs of colour and then working out the structure from there. I really should have done up a sketch first though and then worked from that. Looking at yours that seems even more obvious.

Thanks man! I really appreciate you taking the time to do that :)
