Hi all, the subject pretty much covers my question.

I'm trying to draw in Painter, but I'm thinking my current setup might potentially be better. My tablet is about 8 inches from the monitor, laid flat, with me about 8 inches away. Drawing is weird, I feel like I have to rotate the tablet to get certain strokes, and being new, I'm not even sure if I'm holding the pen right (like a regular pen, just using the shoulder more) or if there might be a better way for better flexibility in the strokes.

Whatever you are comfortable with (holding and placement) works. I tend to work with my tablet on my lap.

I believe space+drag rotates the canvas in Painter so there is no need to move the tablet. If anything, that is really disorienting.
