Looks good, with the exception of the clothing, which could use some work, and some perspective issues on the axe.

i didn't notice any problems with the axe, could you clarify? Or anyone...

I'm not noticing anything with the axe either...but I do notice there is some strange perspective going on in the shoulder pads. They don't really seem to be sitting on the body right.

daboo?
get some varying line weights in this for some depth, maybe in the axe.

Very warcraftish :)
Yeah there are some minor perspective issues going on here ie. the armor (already pointed out) althought i'm not sure it could also just be a uniquely shaped shoulder piece.
Don't really see a prob. with the axe either. although I think some people would expect the axe head to face down the middle of the first and second knuckles (slightly turned to the left.) but it seems fine- goodjob with this one :D

well as far as rendering, it needs more contrast.. its boring how it is.. it jsut looks grey.. make the darks really dark and add highlights (the highlights should be the only places that are "white" the rest should be shaded.. make yourself a 12 value value scale, and refer to it when you are working on drawings. right now, he looks like hes standing in front of a fire or something (except if he were, the darks would be darker). if thats what you were going for, i suggest a simple background to give the viewer an idea of why he looks like that.
as far as the drawing goes, there are some major anatomy issues. his pose looks really stiff, his left, our right arm looks weird, like he is moving it in front of his body rather than how it naturally hangs to the side. his arms look a little too big for his chest. try to make his chest look for like a triangle rather than a rectangle.
work on his armor a bit. it also looks "off". someone else mentioned that.. it jsut takes practice to get it down so it looks good and natural.
really, i can see some talent in you, so if you take my advice, and keep on working on anatomy (think of a body builder or an exaggerated body builder) you will get some good results..
the only way to fix anatomy is jsut to keep drawing and studying. i take it that you didnt haev a reference for this, so try a drawing WITH a reference, even if you have to exaggerate parts of it to make it work for you..
things I like about the drawing are the axe, it looks well design and rendered, it doesnt look off at all. I also like his clothing/armor, besides what I said about parts of it looking "off" I like the design of it.
It does look very warcraftish, like Chris Metzen drew it. Keep practicing and you should get better and better!

i cant quite tell what is "off" about the armor...

Yeah its hard to tell.. It might just be that it is trying to fit with the anatomy that isnt working, making it look off..
I figured you wouldnt fix stuff on this one, which is good. I was just hoping you would look out for the things I mentioned in future drawings. Like I said it just takes practice to get it down, so just keep drawing..
As for contrast, you bet. first of all, I would get rid of the "H" pencils, except for lighter areas and the initial sketch. I use an Ebony sketch pencil (8B) for my darkest areas. It may seem like overkill, but it really makes a difference when you have darker darks and lighter lights. If you look at almost any "good" peice of art, and you desaturate all the color from it, you should see that the contrast is varied quite a bit, rather than having more neutral grey tones..
compare this image that I edited to your original one. which one makes more of an impact and draws you more?

mine, to be honest. I assume you did the auto level in photoshop or something, but it looks very grainy.
I found a tutorial by Adi Garnov (sp?) in which we does a similar thing. To marrow ill mess around with the contrast a bit in photoshop.
Oh and i found a 6B lying around while i was shading, and i used that a bit too. Guess it dosent show.
Thanks a heap for the help! :D

Yeah I just adjusted the contrast in photoshop.. it wont look that great, but it kind of shows you what I mean.. I was the same way, and one of my teachers taught me how to really draw well, and that is one of the things he showed me. most people only draw within a few shades of grey and dont really explore darker and lighter tones. Anyways, just keep that in mind for your next drawing!
