how can anyone not sound like the gratest nerdy fanboy when talking about
starcraft... looks like they went with the warcraft3 engine though. I was wishing for graphics that are something along the lines of the new C&C.
But it`s a style thing i suppose. The game looks great as always.

I'm sure I'll play as well.

BUT, have you seen the colours they're using on the units?
It's like Starcraft meets My Little Pony

Nice I'm like one of the biggest Starcraft fans ever. The thing that was most the most fun is if you lan it with close friends and sometimes family. That was before internet took over.

Yeah, Blizzard haven't been exactly subtle in their colour palettes - I found even Diablo could have used more de- on the saturation.

agreed as well, they should take some more cues from their own cinematics on in game content

RTS games usually have to make the units offensively over-saturated so it's always easy to point out what's going on ..... IMHO Homeworld is the only RTS to ever have "great" art-direction without such over-the-top characters/colors/scale

Hear that? That's the sound of Japan coming to a complete halt.

if you haven't yet... watch the cinematic trailer... be sure to change your pants after. the new/improved units look great. concept art, also great.

blizzard games are what got me inspired to work in the games industry, and after seeing this, it is even more fuel for the fire.

True, but I think it's part of Blizzard's identity too. Warcraft 3 had everything bright - the terrain, units props the works. I don't think it would feel as Blizzard if it didn't have the brightness and saturation.

Well all said and done about the color scheme. I've been waiting for a hit from Blizzard for some time now. Ok the cinamatics rulez, but just remember Blizzard have gone a long way this is not their first game so to speak. Blizzard just have the knack for movies.

Every Blizzard game that made a name had top notch cinematics. Diablo and Starcraft the foundation of which it started had everything and started new ganre's especially Diablo "hack and slash games". Plus the game play was extrodanary. Some people still play Starcraft and Diablo with their expantions. Warcraft isn't that old but it sill lives needless to say of what other games give us.

My point is that Blizzard rules and I can't wait for Starcraft II.

I think the cinematics are a very big part of the game.
I used to rush thru every level to get to the next cinematic.
Story and gameplay were amusing too. I hope they come up with some great new stuff.

hmmm colors
maybe we can ask blizzard to built in some "costumize your units" feature in the game like the warhammer games have.

colors dont bother me at all. its a game that has always had bright colors to tell friend from foe apart. get over it.

\o/ yes! finally!

thoo.. hopefully they will change the graphics a bit =/ I liked the more raw look in starcraft.. even you probably will be able to adjust it, lightning effects always bug me in RTS games.

ahhhh the sweet sound of space battle ... man i can't wait. really cool to see some redesigns of old units and structures .. looks like they've given marines some shoulder mounted shield kind of thing which really appeals to me. but ya the colours are def way too bright for my taste, hoping that things like that will change, but then knowing blizzard's love for quality i'm sure the final product won't be exactly like what we've seen right now. check out some of the trailers over here if you haven't yet ..

*sigh* i'm in love with starcraft alllll over again .. :D
*in 5 year old's tone of voice* god bless mommy, daddy and blizzard :D

i just noticed in the gameplay video that they could do a little fix.
on space maps aircrafts and other units parts should go floating away, right? not just drop to the ground and stay there, it's space, no gravity.
unless their on a planet or moon.
