Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development and is currently working with publishing partners that include: Buena Vista Games, SCEA, Microsoft , EIDOS, Konami, THQ and 2K Games on projects such as Ghostrider and Silent Hill, as well as our groundbreaking original next-gen game for the PS3 and the Xbox 360; Climax is an exciting, creative and fun place to work and has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Lead Artist to work on a stunning new sci-fi title.
Our ideal candidate:
• At least 4+ years of experience as a 3D artist on handheld and console titles with at least 2 shipped titles and one as a Lead Artist.
• A motivated team-leader with attention to detail and respect for deadlines & budgets who is task driven with excellent time management skills and with the ability to prioritise their work as well as the team members beneath them.
• Experience of managing art teams effectively and in a timely fashion.
• Previous experience of mentoring and tutoring junior artists.
• 2-3 years experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
• A minimum of 5 years experience with Maya, Photoshop, and other 3D/2D art applications.
• The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
• A good understanding of cutting edge artistic techniques and tools and the ability to implement them into current practical practices.
• Ability to consult with leads, producers, designers to develop the look and feel of the game.
• Creativity in generating new visual styles, quality and directions.
