While I'm not the one who can "learn you to paint", since I still have to learn that myself, I think you might want to be a bit more excact with what you mean by paint. Particularly the medium, and perhaps some more specific area. It's an insane lecture to "teach to paint" in one reply. Do you mean paint with a computer, or paint with something like acrylics? Refine your requests, and you'll more likely get a reply from some of the masters on this here forum.
I like the newest sketch you've posted.
Cheers

Awesome dude, glad you made it on here. Things are looking good man... cept that I know you got more to show and I wanna see it XD... I only have one thing that I think might add...which I tell to everyone when I notice it, but if you place a gray background (about 50% B in HSB color mode) underneath the drawing layer and change the drawing layer to a multiply layer blend or darken, it would really help viewers see you stuff better... I rigged up a action in photoshop that automatically scales and changes the background to a 50% gray... really helps... the reason for the gray is because right now with the white vs black, alot of the inbetween values are lost because of that high contrast.
On painting I would love to share how I work... but I learned it from David (the Equinox here) and it's basically working in the values first and then applying a layer of color above with a layer blend. I actually need to start trying real painting techniques since that would not only be faster, but turn out better results. keep at it man, and I will see what little knowledge I can share.

Nice sketches and begining work. Watch your anatomy maybe do some reference work and studies? As far as painting goes check out the painting section in the forums...you can get some helpful advice there. Good luck!

I like the confidence in your lines; they have presence and they deliver. As for painting, painting is just like any other medium. You have to define your subject's volume through tone and color. If you're new to color, then you should try starting with black and white to learn to handle the medium. Start with easy objects, like spheres and cylinders. And Painter has a few tutorials that come on it; you should glance through one or two to see what tools are available to you, like the mixerpad.
And, btw, could you post your imgs a little smaller? It's easier when we can see the whole img at once. I think the size of the img in post #3 is right where they should be. And you can edit your post to change stuff like that.
Keep it up!

HELLO DUDE, thanks for dropping by my sketchie. That's really good for a first attempt! I still cant paint decently. And i really like your line quality, you dont have furry lines like mine. :P
Oh and there is no way someone can teach you how to paint, it just comes with practice (which you ARE doing alot of.) However, there are many tutorials out there to guide you. Alot can be found here as well. ^_^
By the way, if you are painting in photoshop, this thread is a good one to start with, thanks to Bumskee. :)
