i've tried lookin through photoshop guides but couldn't figure it.
how do i import an image of ,in this case, gears and cogs into an open file of a poster ive been workin on?
really appreciate any help :^^:

you can copy and paste images from document to document. thats the way i do it.

You can also drag that document/image into the new Document too.

in file option chose open as option, and copy paste from other.

I'll try to make this more clear. You can always use the move tool and move layers and images between two documents. It automatically creates a new layer for it so you don't accidentally do a cut and paste onto a layer you didn't want it to be on. It also has it automatically set for resizing in case the image is too large too.

I find the Place command better (its under the file option on the Main menu for CS2), if you have place the document you can easily re-edit it using whatever programe (adobe based) to edit it and just update it in the new file you just placed it in
