Alright! So! I am extraordinarily interested in this program, and that's partly because I've got about eight months or so to prepare my application. I've got so much time but I still feel the fear of letting it go to waste, it's crazy! It's not the only program I'm focused on, but one school at a time! This shall part one in a series?

I sort of went over my situation in this (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=95995) thread. Basically, I've dropped out of Algonquin's animation program (and to answer a previous question about the state of things there: well, it is hard to talk about it when some of my friends from that very program have started posting here on CA! In fact, a few of said friends got about as far as I did with it and decided to drop out because—like me—animation wasn't the career for them. It's just that, simply!) and am pursuing something in illustration. Drawing things that I don't have to move or synch to voices, and painting: these are my interests.
My interests have been jumping all over the place since puberty. Anyone else get that problem? But, that's another thread altogether. :grandpa:
What I'm looking for is just about any and all the information anyone in or from this program can give me. Experiences, tips, especially with regards to the portfolio, but also the course and professors. What is it like? Is it intense? I know it's what I put into it, but I'd like to know every aspect of what I'b be potentially investing four years of my life in (that's four if I can skip the fundies course, and I do so want to think that I can!!!).
Also: much later, I though it would be a great idea if I could post my portfolio sumissions on here for critiquing. Would that be… pretty useful?
Thoughts! That's all I want.
