Hi All,
I would like to refine my art. Hopefully I can get more constructive crits here than the usual "thats cool", or "that looks weird".
I have started to work my way through Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth. I was wondering if any one could suggest any good tutorials on how to draw mass, and form?

I have also recorded some of my work, I have never had any real art education (except high school, etc).
Be great if anyone had some tips.

Your triangle on the female torso is a bit too flat, I do believe that all 3 sides should be equal.

Hi All.
Have been plugging away at work and uni, sneaking in a sketch here or there. Hopefully will have a bit more time with Uni holidays for the next 3 weeks. Here are some skribbles from my sketch book. I have just started Loomis's Figure Drawing for all its worth.

I see you take good time of your holiday. Now draw something every day from imagination and reference (master studies and life drawing) and you'll advantage quickly If you keep at it.

Keep going on those anatomy studies... Loomis, Hogarth, and Bridgeman are all great sources of inspiration... I would also recommend taking a look at Mentler's "Book of bones" its a sticky in the fine art forums... great anatomy stuff there...
Most artists wont be insulted that you are trying to learn from their stuff... just make sure that you reference them when you post it up...
I dont have time right now to check out your recordings, but ill check back later to take a peek. I would definately keep up the studies and do as many as you can... after a while start to draw from what you know instead of what you are looking at...
as far as technique goes it looks pretty solid... watch out for the extreme perspective on that motorcycle... any more and it will become "unreadable"... try it again with a little less perspective!

hey man, nice to see a local. With the formal training Adelaide Central is the best in town, I have done some short courses and work experience there, teachers are all professionals. They run open life drawing classes on thursday nights which I might start attending soon, I think it starts around 7 and it costs $10 or something, considering you are concentrating on figure's I suggest it.
I think with your faces you should study construction and the plates and form of the face, self portraits in the mirror help a lot, as with drawing faces from life.
:) nice to see a local
