This is a sketch that evolved into a painting. I worked without reference for this one and didn't plan it out as much as I usually do. I'm trying to set the group of skeletons in a valley at sunset: warm, mostly horizontal light source.

I'm starting to think of this as a concept and color composition for a possible larger, more completed image.

Hi, I am new here, but I after 4 years of art school, I hope my opinions are valid :). Anyways, I think you colors are starting to work for your sunset or warmfeeling but the sky in the background is definitely too nite time. Also the huge skull in the right corner is odd, needs to be grounded by a body or maybe even angled differently, as it just seems to be a giant floating skull, but like the idea :)
