ok what is everyone's fav comic book on going or once off or graphic novel.

Looking for some quality reading so curious for suggestions.

For me Watchmen is one of the tops - they are making a movie of it, if they screw it there will be hell to pay.

The dark night returns... good reworking of some of the main character and themes but the mutant story line was a bit ropey

Batman Arkam Asylum.. OWG Visually amazing story quiet good.

on going series for a time was Spawn Capullo's art managed to more than make up for McFarlane's writing... some of plots were interesting but the pacing was all over the place the cybernetic gorilla was the first strike, the movie the second and somewhere around issue 70 or 80 I gave up.

X-men good in parts but Marvel got greedy lets put out 5 x men titles and milk our fans.. thanks but no thanks.

Sin City
Vagabond
Older Iron man from the 90's
Marvel nowadays is sometimes just blah...
but i'm stoked for some of the works by marko.

i also enjoy some indie comics and Heavy Metal magazine.

My favorite has always been Moebius' work. The Airtight Garage, and The Incal were a couple of my favorites.

definitely more into the older stuff. most things now-a-days just seem mass produced or rip-offs of the old ones. just my opinion, but the various Predator graphic novels were always a plus - JAG

"Preacher" is the funniest thing I've read for ages.

"Invisibles".(yeah, it's The Matrix)

"Fallen Angel" is good too.

"Sandman" is great, as is UK comic "2000AD"- look for "Durham Red", "Glimmer Rats"l "Rogue Trooper" and "Nemesis the Warlock".

Really like the new "Conan" efforts too.

The Watchman
The Dark Knight Returns
From Hell
Maus

And the Metabarons series for some straight up eye-candy, fully painted by the amazing Juan Gimenez. Hell, if we're including eye candy, throw in anything by Travis Charest and Enki Bilal. I'm also a fan-in-the-making of Ashley Wood's Popbot.

Lone Wolf and Cub
The Punisher Max novels, the ones with garth ennis writing.
Blade of the Immortal
Battle Angel Attila
Akira

Not sure if limited series count but I know it's going to be in graphic novel form when the series is done: Gunslinger with Jae drawing.

I'm a fan of a lot of these, but I can't believe you guys haven't mentioned Bone yet. For shame. ;)

Supermarket by Kristian and Brian Wood. Love the artwork. The last bit of the story seems a bit rushed but it's still the comic that got me back into comics. Anything I've read by Brian Wood has been pretty damn good.
