I have a very faint memory of this clip. I can't for the life of me remember what it is from.
Anyone know where this is from?

That would be the movie 'The Adventures of Mark Twain'.

The more claymation I watch, the more I'm convinced it's place is in the horror genre

While this clip in particular might not help my "it's not scary!" argument, have you ever seen the strata-cut method (http://www.stopmotionworks.com/stratacut.htm) that's been used in episodes of Pee-Wee's Playhouse? There's an example in this commercial here. (http://www.bentimagelab.com/video/clearasil.htm) That's not CG, it's slices of clay cut from a giant roll. Holy God.
Er, yes. Claymation isn't scary when it's not all clumsy and poorly lit ;)

The first one is super funny. Especially the ending :)
I love the clay animation from the Neverhood computer game.

Whoah Steph, that strata-cut stuff is crazy. I've seen it before but I had no idea that's how they did it. It would be so hard to wrap your head around animating like that.
Speaking of claymation and horror, Ward 13 is awesome.

The full short is on the Animation Show Season 2 DVD. Definitely worth picking up.

NEVERHOOD! Man, that and Skullmonkeys... it's a shame that method of creating game art isn't more cost-effective, I wish there was more of it out there. Remember Clayfighter for the SNES?
0kelvin, I never heard of Ward 13. Is it recent? The trailer has me all intrigued!
Ok, so it ain't cute, but there's this excellent German piece called "Balance" that's well worth the look. I think this won an academy award...

Yeah, it came out in the last few years. It's got an official website (http://www.ward13.com.au/). It's definitely worth seeing.
Another favourite of mine is Jan Svankmajer's Darkness/Light/Darkness.
