Photoshop Question

I used the Marquee tool to move a piece of my painting, but now I can't go back into paint mode and paint...what do I need to check/uncheck in order to use the brush tool again...I've tried everything I can think of!

Hmm... check that the layer you want to paint is selected, check that it's not locked, check that you have deselected the marquee, check that "Preserve Transparency" isn't on, check your brush size, check your brush mode, check your brush opacity... that's all I can think of right now...

Yeah how do you de-select the marquee?

Click outside the marquee with any selection tool, use the Select menu, or control(command)-D.
