...from my collection of books and drew from it. It was called, "Drawing the Human Head".

I took the opposite approach this time. The last time I did serious life studies, I tried very hard to make the images look exactly like they did in the book. This time however, I'm going with my own flow and simply trying to learn what the book is telling me.

It is for that reason I would like some crits of my work. I also want to improve my ability to just sketch this stuff out as I learn.

Very impresive. Is that book by Burne Hogarth? He has a few others and, if I'm not mistaken you were drawing from the "Drawing Dynamic Hands" some time back. I only ask because after seeing the hand drawings and now these few faces, I want his whole series. Mr. Potato Head's angry eyes, in the lower right, are stellar! I love the folds of skin between the eyes, really adds to the mood of the picture. Can't wait to see more.

Well, here is the next one. This time from that Dynamic Hands book that was mentioned. :) This was to study the fat of the palm as it relates to the thumb. It's called the Thenar Emenence(let's see how long I remember THAT).

I'm curious, do you think it looks too loose ?
