Hello, I just started painting and I really like this idea. It's the first painting I've done that I think is halfway decent, I just don't think it's done. There could probably be a lot more detail in it I think. Also I got lazy on the ground because I couldn't figure out what to do with it. Tips suggestions much appreciated.

It's an interesting pic :)
Seems like you could use a better setup, though; show more of the rest of the picture. Is this a cavern with stalactites on the ceiling? Is it a vast black chamber? Taking up most of the pic with the big faces is cool, but the composition is somehow lacking..
Someone else posted this the other day, and it seems like a nice resource for rethinking picture setup: http://features.cgsociety.org/story_custom.php?story_id=3275&page=1
Keep workin' on it :teeth:

Hi, welcome to CA :)
I like what I'm seeing already. Is that a shadow of two people on the ground in front of the red guy? You might add a bit stronger light source behind them, even though they are out-of-frame...stronger light on the ground around the shadows to make them pop out more. Also I think it might look cool to add some highlights inside the mouths like you have done in their eyes...like some kind of power source flowing out of them. And I like the red light emminating from and around the red dude's mouth. Maybe add that same effect to the other guys mouths (unless that was intended to make red guy the focus).
Don't get too frustrated if it sometimes takes awhile to get a response. Lots of people on here, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle, depending on what time you post and how many people are online. Unfortunately, the pros on the site get most of the attention, but there's plenty of helpful people around too. Keep posting, I definately want to see what happens with this piece.

Thanks guys. I wasn't frustrated really, just noticed the post was getting pretty far down on the list. I was kind of soft bumping :bashful: Appreciate the tips though.
