View Full Version : After 2-3 years... suddenly CS1 won't save.

I haven't had any real problems with this program for as long as I've had it. If I recall it's been about three years since I bought it, so why now of all times it decides to refuse to save is beyond me. I've got this project due in 32 hours and I've already put 8 hours into this version of it.

Now I've got it saved from Painter, it's just... I've been going back and forth between the programs all morning/night and photoshop has been a big time saver in fixing proportion problems and such with my good friend Free Transform. But all of a sudden, 'Could not complete your request because of a program error.' And it won't save. Ctrl S, Save, Save As, copy paste into new document and save as, restart photoshop and try again... no go. And I've tried copying the layer, opening the document in painter and pasting there; it just pastes something I had copied hours ago, where as if I paste in photoshop, its the layer I just copied.

Anyone know where to even begin looking to fix this problem? I mean, I COULD live without photoshop until after the turn in, but it'd be a rather bad thorn in my side doing what I need without it. I suppose I could reinstall, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of another fix before I do that and lose all my preferences...

Happens to me once in a while. More likely it's because of a corrupted file. Went throught the same cut and paste try and still wouldn't work.

What I ended up doing was going back to an earlier saved .psd. Try a print screen and paste in ps or another app, if that helps.

Clear your cache too if you haven't done that yet.
