Hello everyone, some of you may already know me as Eric0322 but I had to change my email so I changed my username here as well. Since I changed all that I decided to start a new sketchbook as well
Ultima Earth is the name I have given to the place in my mind where the images and characters that I draw come from, so this is your invitation to check out Ultima Earth for yourself.
I'll post my stuff from my other sketchbook along with some new stuff. enjoy
-note: The last one of the ships isn't done yet I think I still need to work on it a bit
Please tell me what you guys think, thanks

Update- I think these to turned out awesome, I just did them a little while ago with charcoal pencil. I'm going to try charcoal out a bit more, tell me what you think and any suggestions you have that might help me out a bit.
Thanks

This was my first real attempt at cross hatch shading, i've always just kind of did the old smear the pencil out over the picture but as of late that kind of shading hasn't really sat well with me so I did this picture in cross hatchings in pen so there was no temptation to smear. I'd really like to hear what you think and any suggestions or tips you might have that could help me out, thanks.

You have some cool things happening here. The six-armed dude is pretty wicked, the one you cross-hatched is cool also. Barbarians rock.
Ok then- You need to work on human anatomy and proportions. The hands all look too small, arms too short. You show a good beginning grasp, just need lots of practice.
Here's a challenge: draw from life and reference for awhile, say like 2-3 months or so of nothing but anatomy studies (get some anatomy books maybe, like Hogarth) then redraw these same characters and I think you would like the outcome a lot better.
Keep going :)

Your hands and feet are really nice. I love the ink guy with the ax (pic #12). It turned out great! The eyed dinosaur (pic #6) is... wierd, Lol. The 3rd eye isn't centered. And the left eye is crooked on the 2nd charcoal picture. I love your imagination and style. Keep it up! You have hidden talent, so bring it out.

ok i'm back finally with a couple new things. The first picture is for the CHOW 80, i need to go over it in ink so its easier to see on the computer and i'm goin to try and find some time to color it in photoshop. MY second picture is from FFXI, i was bored and watching my brother play the game so i decided to sketch a picture of one of the jobs from the game.

I've learned the basics with coloring on Photoshop, so i colored one of my older pictures to see what you all think.

I'm going to try and update more often, i noticed how fast a thread can be pushed back to the second page when no one comments it in just a couple hours lol.

Big update cause i havnt updated anything in a while, sorry :( All are characters i've made up, i think im getting better with my anatomy.
The last one is a painting i did cause i was in a painting mood, i dont normally paint, and i dont think im any good at it, but this one came out decent. I hope the picture isnt too shitty i had to take it with my phone...

Some really nice character designs but some of the poses look a bit stiff. Try drawing more people from life to help get used to natural feeling poses. Keep it up!

you have the ideas, but you still need more studies to realize your ideas. try to focus on shapes rather than outlines when doing your studies, keep drawing, your sketches have much potential :)
