Hi everyone,
I'm trying to produce some character concepts at the moment, and I'm having a bit of trouble. I have problems getting the character's personality to come out in the picture. I also have problems with body language, lighting and mood.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or know of any good books/websites I can use please?

Thanks

Just as a starting point, get a mirror and make faces in it. (A larger mirror would allow you to pose your entire body.) This would at least show you what happens when you're pissed, happy, "old," and such. Don't try to draw what you see necessarily, just FEEL what your body and face are doing. After a bit, this allows you to "remember" what muscles and bones are doing when you adapt a specific emotional pose so you can attempt drawing it.
