Wouldnt we all like to have one?
this pic took me AGES.. i cant tell how long.. probably 30 to 40 hours
it isnt really showing in the pic, but i was just experimenting allot with brushes
funny thing is i did not use any layers for the colors,
and when i laid down the maincolor sceme i also merged the sketch into the drawing and did not use any layers at all
new for me, but cool to do
here is the progress
hope yall like it
ow and thx for the support in the WIP thread guys

cool! like the "fun thing" as well, kinda like one of those wireframe-to-fully-rendered-version :]
what distracts me is the interaction of the tree & the cloud - looks to me like it's smoke coming out of the tree :)
the wood of the shack looks a bit plasticky, the tree is much more convincing in terms of material/texture! then the last thing that struck me was that the gardener's legs should be pushed more in front of the fence. Soften the edges of the fence, or maybe add thickness or a value contrast to the legs?
Just my 3 cents, hope you dont mind :] edit: oops, just saw that there's a WIP thread already and you've been working on it quite a bit.. Hope you don't mind the crits!
Lovely picture, great detail in the robot and some plants, nice composition & color! Gooood job! :)

nice colours, interesting idea. Your picture looks very good. The robot is superb. I think that the city in the background could be better, but when I look at the picture I think "really nice image":)
cheers!

I have watched you create this one. Nice Job JOEY-B. And I agree I like the version that is half painted and half sketched.

very nice ,, the shadows are really nice,,, but the ones on the bot might be a bit too dark for the coposition, you might wann brighten some of the darkest parts on the bot just to give that light-bouncing-around -effect

The not finished version has much more action. You can believe the gardener is creating him\herself and the garden in one act...
I like it.

Joey, I see a lot of personality and spontaneity in your vegetables, perhaps becouse you painted directly whitout sketch. I really like your sketch style and the way that you color your pencils, but sometimes painting directly give a lot of freedom. In my opinion, you can feel sure about your garden.

well actually i did sketch them, but directly on the painting so they got lost in the original sketch, but im glad u like it.
thx man
