Hi there everyone, i've been a long time lurker on CA.

I used to draw all the time before i started learning 3D, and then i just did it every now and then.

I'm working as lead character artist at a game studio in
seattle, but i've been longing to bring my traditional skills up
to par for quite a while.

So! I got a new sketchbook and whatnot, and i've dedicated
myself to drawing every day for at least an hour if i can spare
the time.

I'm going to post my new work everyday, and i was hoping to
get pointers from all of you pros, so in a month when i look
back there will be visible improvement. Thank you all SO
much, for anyone that is willing to help me out.

draw from life...try and break the comic book habits of figure drawing. That is, rounded muscles, footballs for muscles...learn how the human form moves, mostly. That is how you will be able to invent. Go to Kevin Chens figure drawing notes here on the forum, he has some of the best stuff available for notes to learn from. If you have questions about them, write him, or post the questions back here on this thread.

Try varying your drawing sizes. If you draw all figures at 5 inches in a 8 inch tall note book, try doing them at 3 inches, and at 2 ' in another book. Dont get caught in ruts, or similarities for too long, you precondition yourself for failures on other levels if you have to perform at them...nothing bad to say, just a habit reminder. We all need to keep that one in check, always...

I could say more, but the question was very basic, or gerneral? Draw always from life, you can mix it up woth photos, but stick with life, its the truth in seeing.
