In the meantime. Yes, sad but true, these sketches are a bit old. I am still out of a scanner and my latest work are only doodles. I wanted to show something though, so here goes the collection of dwarves I created for an RPG I've been directing...

Not bad at all, Utum. I especially love the fact that it's for an RPG... If you are a DM, or running a campaign of some sort, nothing is more awesome than having art come out of that, and have others able to interract and enjoy it.
My suggestion thus far, would be to work on tone, or practice subtley conveying the outer edge of your figures. At the moment they are a tad bit heavy on the lines.
I await some more!

thank you for the suggestion. At the drawing moment i was trying to use different pencils. I outlined twice, once with 2b and another time with 6b. You are right about heavy lines, I have been trying to work with thinner pencils lately.

I redid the colors once more, besides I am trying to get the thumbnail image to work in the thread. I can't get the thread thumbnail to work.

I decided to paint it in BW first, see if i can get the tones right. Then I added the color. This one looks smoother, though i can't seem to get the contrast right.

The resulting colors with some intermediate multiply and levels layers are here

Thumbnail is attached just in case the thread thumbnail decides to take it.

Here is another dwarf. This is a very powerfull runemaster. The scan is quite bad, now that my friend passed on his old tablet to me, I'll try to color it.

The next one is an old dwarf priest. He still has a sturdy constitution of a dwarf,
although now is too old and has been indoors for too long. He is staring at an
artifact...waiting for signals...praying.

In the game the players came to visit this old priest. Since they were strangers
in a particularly old and secluded dwarven kingdom, they were allowed. Times
were also strange because the main dwarven city was under invation from
the caves. Some travellers were welcomed, particularly those sent by the
messengers of the Granite god.
I had time in between sessions to sketch the scene when they were entering
the subterranean garden. I am very sad that the paper had this silly sign in the corner.
I'll photoshop it sometime soon.

YEY Dwarves! Dwarves rock :) I think my favourite has to be the second one in your first post, he looks the most proportionally correct, although is he meant to be sitting down because he seems to me to be slightly off balance, also what is it he is standing on? Still, looking good though man, you got enmore short fellas up your sleeve for us?

Thanks for your comment wahuh. The second one is standing on some beast he just hunted. I only made the head of it and the fur on the back, thought it would be understandable. I tried with a longer leg and it seemed more like a short guy than a dwarf...thats why i stayed with the short ones, although somehow it seems he was sitting you ar right. As for keeping up with dwarves....well i have to admit i am running out of scanned material. I have a couple of sketches, maybe I will post photos from the digicam but they look really crapy. (I am also running out of dwarves probably will have to move everything to an unclassified sketchbook ....)

Another character designed for RPG, this time one that i was playing and i decided to put some heavy mood in my character. I made it a dwarf because I had not had the chance to play one. Although there are no dwarves in Cyberpunk, it turned out quite well (its just a dwarf visually ). He is a scrapyard technician, spcialist in robotics. His one cyber hand can be split into many fingers to type faster.
The image is really crappy because i have no scanner. I will replace it as soon as I get one, or borrow from some friend.

This image i created inspired in an episode in one RPG.
The werewolves are kind of furious, although not clearly visible. I didnt work much on the background, and i think it might need some polishing. Probably if i add some colors. Also the perspective on the dwarves was kind of tricky. Working with this sketchbook forces me to use strange perspectives, because i dont have much space to put the whole image... Comments are very welcomed. Scanner will be there soon and i will replace this images

WIP of adding some colors to the runemaster. I am trying to paint with colors instead of just adding a color layer over a BW background.
