Hi all,

first,sorry for my bad english...

So,I would like to know if there's at (for?) "Derwent pencils" a pencil similar at "Prismacolor pencil color black PC 935"

I know plenty of artists use PC 935,but there aren't in Europe...

Thank you all,

have a nice day!:)

I try not to use black in my colored pencils as it is not a color that occurs in nature.. for my "black" areas I use a combination of colors.. one of which is terra cotta and Indigo..using lots of layers I also tend to through in some black grape and dark green...

PS I use mostly prismas, though I really like the Pablos as well, and I have faber catels but I don't care for the way they lay down all that well.. they seem to burnish too quickly..

well, i use a lot of holbein artists' colored pencils. you have black and lampblack from them. than there is a polychromos series black by faber castell, i'm guessing you can get that in europe. it's a bit harder than the prisma colours. the holbeins are about the same, but nevertheless i feel i need to sharpen them less often. the prisma color is the smoothest and the blackest of all of these, but i'd say they're all fine to work with. just pick up some different oil based pencils and see what suits your hand.
