View Full Version : CS2 crashing/freezing with brush Angle=Direction

Basically whenever I get or make a brush in photoshop and set the angle control to be "direction" I get maybe 10 seconds of painting time before the whole thing freezes up. This is really frustrating as one of my favorite brushes was a square with that setting. I'm not talking about fabulously complex brushes, it seems to be just that setting thats causing everything to snag. I did some digging around on the internet and turned up a few old, unresolved forum posts by people having the same problem, so I thought I'd post a fresh topic and see if anyone's discovered a fix.

Of course within minutes of me posting I seem to have found the problem. Under preferences my cache was set to 6, I changed it to 8, closed Photoshop, reopened it, and viola! no crashing. I did this earlier but neglected to close and reopen photoshop and thus the new preferences weren't able to take effect or be saved, so I thought I had tried that for a while now. gah...

AAAAH! It had been working fine for several minutes, and I thought I was in the clear, as normally the problem appeared almost instantly. So after the last post I went back in and started painting away again and within 30 seconds the damn thing froze again!

YAWP!!
