thats a nice work man... very creative and i love the colors.
i think you should add some contrast, like more dark spaces in the background, more shades and maybe you could try giving him some arms in motion ?? ;)
really nice ! with some adjustments and some practice ull become a very skillfull artist man !

Wow. reminds me of the textures of sparth, is there some sort of painting technique or filter. sorry if I am sounding like a noob, but I was just curious as to how this realistic approach would be taken. Keep up the fine work!

mmm i agree with the arms issue. lovely colors, well chosen. One think that bugs me tho is that his tail, at the position that its coming out of, looks a bit like his....you know ;)
good work

softdrawer-Thanks.
endregen-Thanks, no filters, i just paint on one layer like i am painting with oils from life. I just make custom PS brushes depending on the style/mood of the piece. Its always fun to play with texture...but the "realistic" approach, comes from value/light/edges, the texture is semi-arbitrary and is defined by the brushes i used to get the mood of the piece...just a stylistic thing....the image just happens as i keep my mind on the space/mood/form...and what i am communicating.
Zeroe-Thanks, the tail looks like that because i meant it to :)
Zeravla-Thanks, that arm looks like a leg because it is one! haha, I can see how they'd get confusing, he has no arms, the wings are his arms.
thanks, later,
Art

wow, this is a really nice piece....nice texture.
I also think some arms would look nice....at least just a hint, it looks as if it needs them.

I was mistaken them for his arms too at first glance but later then I found them out to be legs instead. Perhaps of his current posture and very flexible spine he got. Adding a pair of arms would probably help solve that arm issue.
I like the textures and all, has a nice feel to it.

Once I give the image more of a look, I find qualities that I looked over on first glance. I really like this one.

Hey Art, nice departure from your norm, unless you do stuff like this all the time and I just haven't seen it before. I love the layering and opacity variations with all the colors you got going on, the lines are almost living! :) It looks like all your knowledge of drawing and painting from life came in handy in this one. That'd be cool if you did a few more of these.

endregen- No prob man, forums are for asking questions, not yelling at inquisitive people :) If you use round brushes you'll tend to get that round soft look.. (unless you really get into it...like over rendering a traditional work with a single pencil...with which you can achieve tons of textures), ya know? In Oil painting, your surface can largely affect that, but since digital has no real surface persay, you gotta fake it with brushes. Try messing with PS7's brushes, they are 10 times more awesome than PS6.
Sepulveda- Thanks :)
Shawn Ye- Thanks :)
Hedlamb- Thanks, im glad you took more time to look.
Nick!!! What up G? glad you found this! No this is NOT "art" work....I do tons of different works, but they usually stay locked up forever, i think i could make 4 more web sites with all this stuff...i figured id let this "demon" out and see what happens. I love those living lines!....im glad you can notice. Most people cant tell, but you got the eye, consider yourself blessed, you are in the 98th percentile!
Yeah, life drawing/painting helps immensely!!! Its a never ending source of inspiration and information..so many years behind me and I still feel like im just starting. How intimidating life can be! I cant believe some artists dont regularly study it....sad...but it shows in their work. Thanks for the response, i appreciate it dude! TTYL
