Hi, I am an aspiring filmmaker, and I am working on a short for an upcoming film competition. The short is live action with CG elements, and one of the elements I need is about three items, variations on a theme.

I essentially need DRAWINGS of three objects, roughly the size of a softball. I'd like them to be metallic, and have wires and glowing sections, etc etc. You know, an electronic/mechanical -thing-. I can go into more detail, later.

Also I would like some consideration to be taken into the fact that we will probably need to -also- make real world versions of these drawings for the same short.

I am willing to pay $50 for the set of 3 (they will be very similar), this is a relatively low-no budget film, but I also understand that people's time is valuable.

Thanks!

more information could be useful,

for example: for the physical models, what are you planning to make them out of? will you have plastic forms? foam models? sculpted peices? all of that will dictate the kinds of shapes that one should work in.

also. you might want to consider doing a kit-bash, the sort of thing it sounds like you want is very 'blade runner' which means you can probally go into a hobby shop or a surplus store and just mash things together.

cheers

Whoa, brand new term for me, I've never even heard of kitbashing, but I did a bit of googling and now have a core understanding. That said, I think, ideally, it'd be best of it's the kind of thing that could be 'mass' produced relatively easily, or at least a slightly reduced version thereof.

The CGI model could be very intricate, and one or two practical ones that are similarly intricate, and then it'd be great to be able to make multiples of ones that will be present on the screen, but not close enough to make detail. So camera safe-ish.

So as far as material goes, from what little I know of prop building, I think the practical one would be made of plastic.
