Ive never needed to make an invoice but this client's asking for one.
I have made him some cartoons to use on websites/print. I have to email him an invoice. Whats the format and what does it need to have? Can anyone show me an example?
Its a per piece billing, not a per hour one.

Basically, you just need your name and address, his name and address, the date of delivery, a purchase order number (if he gave you one), a breakout of how many pieces you did, the price per piece and the total charge. That information should be enough, whether it's for an accounting department or the IRS.

First gotta say ... Love your work. I always check out the DSG in the morning and love to see when you have stuff up.
If you have MS/Excel I can e-mail you an invoice template I made up. You can use it per piece or base it off of time and it will total and calculate your contracted rate, with any applicable taxes also. It's pretty basic but will give you something to use.

pconsidine - Thanks. I dont normally give my address to the people I do online work for, nor do they give me theirs. I guess it wont hurt in one case..
RONIN - Thanks! Glad to know someone likes my DSGs. I would appreciate the template - teknostorm at yahoo dot com .

You can do this the easy way too. Go down to staples and pick up some invoice receipts. Fill one of those out, scan and your set. Or use it as a guide to follow.
easy as 1 2 3!
