Hey all. I recently did this for fun. But I'm not liking it too much.......for some reason I find it really busy. And some of the forms aren't very resolved.....but I'll try and colour it soon....see what happens....I was thinking it terms of more of a flying mecha than a ship really.....reminds me a lot of Bobba Fett's ship now that I think about it!
Anyway Hope you guys/gals enjoy:)

Love it! When I saw the sketch last week I was hoping you'd color it. Nice! The reference figure is, again, a nice touch --- Soli

Looks cool. I like it better in color too. I think it helps with the "busy" problem you mentioned originally. It helps the viewer to read the forms better.

I really like this. Reminds me of the mechs in ZOE.
I'd really like to see this finished. :)

I think the human looks to big to fit the design....take a closer look at the size comparison

I like it a lot, the yellow you added really helps pop things out. I would imagine it'd look much more defined once you add some subtle details.. like perhaps notches on those pipes in the rear, or things like that. I wouldn't worry too much about that, seems like you're on the right track.

thanks Skello :....that's good you noticed.....there is room inside.....the window is only a viewing for mostly his head.....designing a window size for the whole human body I think is too much......also I try not to put large windows on mechs due to physical combat.....large widows means easy weak target on the body.....but you also could be right.....and I could just shink the human .hehehehe
My3blka:....I forgot about the pipes....silly me...thanks for that!

I'm so curious as how to you rendered it so beautifully...the colors are so clean..did you do this on computer by using a tablet of somesort or did you do this all on paper.

You did great work by cleaning it. I found your pencil sketch a bit confused, but the final design is great very professionnal !
I like the colors remind me anime coloring technique.

3B,
Your mechs are consistently my favorites on this board. There's a tangible weight and power to them that is often missing in other mech designs. But I'm most impressed by how much you can do with a monochromatic color scheme and a single highlight color.
I used to work in a forklift shop, and we would repaint the old forktrucks a single color and then stripe on some yellow or green numbers. You've managed to exaclty capture that used-but-repainted look, down to the way the highlight yellow has been chipped off in places exposing the primary color underneath. Excellent.

Very cool. Great panel lines.
You might want to consider adding some lights or glowing bits. I think it would also be good to lighten up the fronts of doodad pods to match the lighting elsewhere on the ship - this will also help to give definition in that area. Maybe also consider a color other than pink for the doodads.

I really like the grey and yellow. It works very well on this ship design. I like the density of this ship, it looks heavy and very aggresive.
WELL DONE! 3bleadpencil
