Your work is beautiful, but I almost didn't bother to look because of your infatuation with poop. Don't demean your work so!

pfft... a daily sketchbook? what a show off!

Cole these are great! :D Your anatomy as always is top notch ( man I gotta get on that!) and your colors are sateadily improving! Awesome! ....just make sure to focus on what we have to work on later on...I know it's tempting to work on other things, but we gotta work for our money! Oh yeah!

Seedling: :/ I don't think he's demeaning his work...Cole..just likes poop a LOT! I tell ya, he -IS- the weird kid at work.

April 27th, 2007, 12:08 PM
ok...just one more sketch for the day, got a little discouraged with what i was working on for work so took the time to do a fun orc thing, which im thinking of turning into a full character pose. dont tell icon im working on other things...shhhhhh.

April 27th, 2007, 05:46 PM
Man...this is a great start! Sway West sent me your way and I am not disappointed! Keep up the awesome work.

Oh...bye they way: did you do this on paper or is a textured background? I love it!

That one Nyx702 quoted is totally bitchin. Another favorite is the sinister looking nerd dragon.

Colepoopface
April 28th, 2007, 03:37 AM
Thank you for the compliment Nyx, thats toned pastel paper, with prismacolor black and white pencils. Also, im a newb here and was wondering how i get an icon to show up on the thread. So if anyone knows how to do that, that would be great.

Noë
April 28th, 2007, 04:48 AM
yea :) a nice new update this is :)
To get a thumbnail, you have to attach the image you want as a thumbnail to your first post using the attachment manager. For more information on that: there's probably a sticky about that in the Support forums and the Lounge.
I like the prismacolour sketches a lot, the female char looks really nice, she looks like she can actually fight with that armor, instead of only looking pretty in it :P
I'm wondering: do you only get less messy when you go digital, or do you also draw cleaner stuff? I really like the messy lines by the way, they give a nice atmosphere or something :P

well, that's enough asspats for a day I think ^^
Better start improving myself (edit; uh I mean my drawings :P)
byebye,
Marleen

April 28th, 2007, 06:15 AM
Thanks for the help Noe! Umm...most the time im pretty messy i suppose, its just how my brain thinks i suppose, when i do clean stuff, im not focused on the figure, but rather keeping the line clean...which doesnt help my anatomy studies to much, but i have included some of my usual daily life drawings from the past few days in this post. These are just people reading at Barnes and Noble pretty much. Done in ballpoint pen, but the tonal paper ones are done with colored pencils. Also im going to work on this orc thing in a couple days....(once i finish my actual real work that me and Icon are supposed to be working on...shhhhh), so i included how the sketch is coming out so far of that. Hope you guys enjoy the daily postings. Also, if anyone knows how to get an icon up on the actual forum for when you click into it?...i have been trying to figure that out for quite sometime, Noe helped me figure out the one for under my name though. So props to Noe on that one!

your poop smells fantastic.
...and your drawings are pretty good too.

but seriously, this is amazing. I definitely will be keeping a watch on you to see what information I can glean from your imagery. Brushstroke economy and values are pretty tip top. I keep on finding so much good shit [ oh ho! ] in this sketchbook section. You corel painter people always amaze me. I swear I'm painter retarded.

cheers :D

Colepoopface
April 30th, 2007, 09:51 PM
Thanks for the compliments guys, and im not really a corel kind of guy, i use it for more color mixing and flesh rendering...but the first couple sketches, along with most of them, are done with photoshop cs. I have included a quick process starting with a custom brush of like a rock face or something then trying to turn that jumble into something cool looking. And thats pretty much my process for coming up with new stuff, when i dont have a certain critiria to meet.

Man, I love your stuff. I'm a traditional media guy, generally not in sympathy with digital work--yeah, yeah, what am I doing here--so naturally I gravitate to work like that astonishing ninja Prismacolor sketch on page one--love the gestural quality--and your barnes and noble life studies, both the linear and the tonal, but I gotta say I love your digital work as well. the medium really doesn't matter with skill and imagination like yours, will be checking back!
Thanks for the inspiration!
