its another of my strange sureal images that i seem to be doing these days....
i also didnt want to go overboard with the detail...so i detailed the areas of the image that needed it for enhancement...in fact i would rather do more images using these methods than stay the slave to overly detailed pictures, afterall art is not all about detail as far as i know:rolleyes:

wow. i love it. i especially like the way you faintly painted the background which looks up and out of the water. the effect is really captured very well. :fruit:

i love the lighting and all of it except maybe her arm... they look a little short or too big, i dunno but its just my opinion... ;)
but looks damn nice ! i like the water effect "transparancy thing".
anyway ! good job !

great! creepy! You look at it and have to start making up stories about the person in the mask, the hand reaching out to help, the people just watching-- are they sympathetic or hostile?
I agree with softdrawer, the arms need a little more definition. The image might also be a little more dynamic if you make her stretch, really work for safety.

hey arcipello--looking good!!!
few things--the arms are way too stubby--they should be longer (humerus bone especially) and a bit smaller/skinnier after youve added any length needed
i think your the hands in the pic could have benefitted from reference
the surrounding area from fig (BG) is good without detail however IMO it still feels too sketchy. you could keep it without detail but still put in time to make the piece have more depth in the water ( figs, fish, cotral etc)
---as far as teh sketchiness of teh BG--i think you could surpass your medium better--its very apparant you were just sketching with lowered opacity brushes--
theres a difference between doing something SKETCHY and keeping something LOOSE
im not quite sure whats happening on her lower half--is she emerging from coral or is she in a black dress swimming in fron of something?
also i think you could have thought out your COMPOSition better. it could be more dynamic ( her hands are both the same amount of distance from edge of pic, with a hand in middle---my eye gets trapped between this triangle and the detail of the mask---a better composition would allow for the eye to travel around the piece more fluidly
the hair is really well rendered---ty

Thanks for the crits so far guys especially Tyboogie:)
what you see here is a section of an image that went horribly wrong...there was only this figure that seemed any good...so this afternoon i tried my best to rescue her....although as you can see shes still in danger:D
its very very hard trying to get a nice balance between more refinely rendered work and somewhat sketchy areas:(
anyway i think the feeling behind this image is one of seperation with the world above...i alsowanted the figure to be deteriating rapidly into a confusing mess of nothingness, well thats how i see the image atleast....not quite sure whats going on inside my head these days.

Hey Arcipello
I really like your images and especially your robots as you posted one of them in my Robot thread earlier (Sijun).
I have thought of a quick way to fix an image without doing too much alterations with a brush, I made an over-paint to show you.
I used Liquify above the filters in Photoshop 7 and the pukker tool and some other tools, the are very effective and maybe you know about them already, the changes made is kind of what tyboogie said above.
I really like the image otherwise so keep up the good work. :)

Also, I hope it is ok with over-paints in Conceptart. I will take down the picture immediately if you donīt want me to post it Arcipello.
see you
