Hey, just wondering if there are any Tablet PC users out there who use photoshop and have developed a good keyboard-less workflow for painting...

My main issue right now, using Photoshop on the tabletPC is that I'm very dependent on using hotkeys to switch tools, sample colors, resize brushes, set opacity, etc... that I feel very slowed down if I don't use the keyboard, and that distracts me from actually painting.

But using the keyboard on my TabletPC feels pretty awkward. It's much nicer and more comfortable to have it in slate mode. :(

I was also thinking of maybe getting one of those USB num-pad keyboards, putting that off to the side and re-mapping the keys to the keyboard shortcuts I use the most for painting. Has anyone tried anything like this?

Apparently a number of folks use the numpad setup. I actually just order this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823146007) (WASD controller) to use when in slate mode. It's plug-n-play USB, and mapped to the left side of the keyboard--where most of my shortcuts are anyway. I'll let you know how it works out.

That looks pretty cool.... might have to pick one of those up.

I figured out last night that I can remap the buttons on the screen of my tablet PC (lenovo X60), so now I can at least hotkey the color picker and brush resize buttons. Now I just need to figure out something for opacity hotkeys and I'll be good... :)

Got it in the mail Wednesday. I've only had two short painting sessions with it since I got it, but I love it. The only thing I'm missing is "V" (paste and paste aligned) but there's enough other keys to map to if I need it. It's super light, reasonably small (8-9" circle and ~1" thick). Well worth the investment!

I use a nostromo gamepad, the keys are programmable so you can make any shortcuts you want and it also saves profiles so you can make one for photoshop, painter, sketchbook pro etc...

I'm guessing all these things work with the fujitsu tablet PCs too right?

Same here N52 for the win. I keep it next to my tablet when I paint.
