I'm in the market for a new laptop and was wondering if anyone in here had any success/horror stories regarding using photoshop/random graphics program with one.

I already have a very nice Wacom tablet but the thought of sitting at Borders or wherever, sketching away on a tablet PC really appeals to me so:

1)Pressure sensitivity etc.: Can one really expect a tablet PC to match the sensitivity of a Wacom tablet?

2)Battery life: Which ones have the best?

3)Portability. My current computer is a 12lb HP Pavillion and I learned very quickly that it's not at all convenient to take it anywhere. It hasn't moved from my desktop in months.

4)Price: If one of you presented me with a drop-dead awesome tablet PC that could do everything I wanted I would, presumably, spend as much as $2k for it.

Thanks for taking a look at my topic :)

I've seen some tablet PCs for 500 or so on http://www.techforless.com

I got my recent laptop off there. I guess well tablet PCs won't have the same sensitivity unless they're really high end but I don't know for sure, and one who is more experienced can give you a few tips.

I just never buy new laptops, because I've told people the laptop's value is worse than the bluebook value of a car (Save Macs).

I hear the new mac laptop has grapphire tablet screen!!

the current models at the moment have all half sensitivity of grapphire. so that's a step up.

I have m200, nice screen the batt life isn't all that great. check out main loop's sketchbook thread, he's been doing some hardcore painting with his tablet, I believe it's a fujitsu I think..
