Hello all,

I'm such an admirer of Durer's work that I've never really wanted to try copying it, it's too perfect. However, I found myself dabbling with trying to simulate his engraving style with a pen and discovered that it was just as I had thought. There's no way I'll ever be able to copy his work! LOL! Anyway, thought I would post this to see if anyone was interested. I guess you could call it "Durer-like", but not really a justifiable mimic of his work. Maybe I'll psyche myself up for a larger piece sometime, his works are always so busy and yet so defined. Just trying to copy someone sometimes gives you a deeper appreciation for their work.

For what it's worth...

I´m myself a Dürer-fan (hey, I´m reenacting late middle-ages, I have to be ;)) and I like this picture very much. I can imagine paintings like this in a dark Fantasy-roleplay with a medieval background - maybe as Ars Magica.

His left arm seems a bit contorted (if this isn´t an effect you want). Anyway really good!

Looks awesome, a cross between Durer and David Trampier (the illustrator from DnD that disappeared in the 80's).

Nicely done! In many aspects it could pass for an engraving. Keep it up!:D
