Hello! I'm an amateur who've been doing haphazard sketches now and then (and would like someone to prod me insistently so I get better consistently...). I see that there's a number of Sketch Support Groups around here - is there a particular place to advertise that I would like to join one? And are they arranged in expertise levels?

I suggest you join the DSG. There aren't really any set rules about "experience levels" for the activities, anyone can join in on just about any activity if they want to. However, activities like the thunderdomes and the weekly sketch activity groups do have guidelines to regulate the quality of the work accepted.

For thunderdome, only the best win through challenges (although anyone can try out), and because there's a week deadline for the weekly activities, more finished works are expected, and only work above a certain quality (as well as being relevent to the current topic) will be taken to the poll to win.

For the DSG (daily sketch group) however, the focus is quick sketches, although you can spend however much time you have on it, and no one really "wins", but people can comment on others work. It's very open-ended.

Just wander the forum and look in threads. They're pretty self-explanatory.
