Compress images, they shouldn't be more than 200k
Topic: Technological Tyranny
Background: Distant Future. Tyrants have been brainwashing the minds of their people since human kind began. While their tools have tended to be something like religion or propaganda, times are changing. The tyrants of the future want tools to enforce servitude, to limit the risk of rebellion.
Brief:
1. Design a tool for enforcing servitude in people (millions or billions of them).
2. High security is necessary, as a tyrant does not want to find themself enslaved.
3. An ability to monitor rebeliousness is preferable.
4. Bonus features should deal with resistance or full scale rebellion, or some other facet associated with the dangers of being a tyrant.
Deadline: Monday 30th April

Old lurker and returning member, here... And as an Industrial Designer, I was happy to discover this section. I'll do my best to enter this IDW, and failing that, the next one.
Great topics so far, btw. ;)

I guess everybody knows such a device exists : ConceptArt and a Wacom.
Don't fight you already are under control...

this system/machine is ordered by the tyrant to place in back of everyones heads. theres really hard punishments if doesn't have one.
theres many functions :
1 this monitors brain functions and alert authorities if crime happens (good excuse for population to have it everybodys head) or rebellious actions ^^
2 it can effect to brains function in many ways... it can paralyze whole body or make it do some thing... (secret servise stuff) and also makes people more happier to their life
3 theres also selfdestruction in it... only tyrant have remote control to detonate it in emergency and if someone tries to operate it to get it off... bum no head at all...
4 it gets it energy from humans brain... so no charging or anything...
well trough the brain you can do all most anything to your body... so just figure out what u wanna do... it does it...

Well, there goes the obvious route. Dammit, now I'll have to be creative. ;)
Looks good, deftonys.

Rogzilla; as in "flying fortress"? Nope, I had ideas that way too. Having trouble making it happen though.

Hey guys! This one was really fun, spent a lot of time researching the nervous system and things at the microscopic level. Unfortunately.. they may actually have something like this someday! Enjoy!

EyeChip Model 11-9: Fiat Industries model 2012-zz
The EyeChip model 11-9 is convenient for both public and covert manipulation of the populace. It's small size (roughly 1/4 the size of a grain of rice) makes for easy installation. Transmission through manditory government vaccinations or the more preferred method, general dispensation through public water supply, allows for immediate action in the event of martial law. The 11-9's nano-tech elements process cellular material, extracting carbon and manufacturing millions of nano-chains which extend along the efferent nerve cells of the subject. Two nano-variants are processed. Variant 1a allows for optical interface and the transmission of visual surveillance signal. Variant 1b progresses along the efferent nerves of the body, eventually working it's way to the brodmann area 4 of the motor cortex. When triggered variant 1b can create electro-magnetic interference thereby interfering with motor functions and rendering the subject incapacitated. Current production is scheduled for use by homeland security, North American Union border control and the Federal Reserve System.

I would so like to see this thread revived again. The deadline for this one was like a month ago... if Flip doesn't have time, isn't there anyone else who can keep it going?

I am guessing that it would have to be someone with moderator access, if not I would be happy to caretake until Flip was able to come back.

Yep one would need moderator access to do it properly I think. I might have some time too with holidays coming up and stuff, but it's up to Flip I suppose :)

yeah bring it back to life, I've been busy trying to find an industrial design internship, and learning more caid applications like maya ad studio tools since all most studios seem to want is a caid monkey, but I swear that if this thread is revived I won't miss a competition. I need to get back to what I love drawing and concepting
