I'm new here and I am not an artist, but can someone please do a favor for me? I am creating a hip hop mixtape and I am just wondering if someone can make a cover art fore me. The mixtape is entitled Real Hip Hop Vol. 2. I just want something that says DJ Chewman3 Presents: Real Hip Hop Vol. 2. Can anyone help me?

Also, I am finished with a vol. 3. If you can do it, just tell me.

Well, I have to charge you for it - I know this is in the nonpaying jobs section. But if you get no responses and you really need art, maybe you could call me.

chew_man3,
Don't beg. It's not the way to get someone to do a job for you.
Just accept the fact that you have to save your hard-earned money to pay someone to do this service for you. Otherwise, you are simply another person who doesn't respect the fact that what you're asking for is something of value.
And because you're here begging, be prepared for no one to trust you when you do end up paying for this service. You'll be expected to pay in advance. People are too afraid of having someone take something from them without having it paid for.
But to answer your question... no, no one can help you. Not when you're begging for something for free.

Why should we you want a professional cd cover. For nothing oh yeah I saw your post on DA. If you can't take your own music seriously enough to pay for a professional cover instead of begging.
Then you don't deserve to a mix tape. Oh and if you get a crappy cover it won't sale anyway..

Time to get things straight.
Number 1. I am not trying to make a profit off of this cd, it's just for my personal listening. purposes.
Number 2. I am 13??! How the hell am I supposed to hire someone. With what? Crayons?
Number 3. Ok, I admit that I was begging but only because I've been trying to get this done for over a month now and nobody is helping me out.
Number 4. This is the non paying job. I would have posted on the paying job forum if I was trying to hire someone.

Now it's time to set you straight! Unless your a non for profit. You will be making money off of the cd. I don't want to hear that crap.
Your 13? So what now is the time to learn these lessons about business.
Yeah you posted in the non-payment jobs here. But you posted in the paying jobs at DA.Yes we artists get around. Save up some money and pay for a good cd cover.
End of story. School is out.

chew_man 3, I'm willing to take on the job. I just signed up here too, and I'm looking for some work (non-paying and paying) to beef up my portfolio. I just need to know a few things first:
1. Is this a mixtape of your original work, or of copyrighted music you threw together? I might not be willing to work with you if you're using music not your own.
2. Are you just looking for a jewel case card, or do you want the full package (jewel case card, CD label, tray card)?
We can iron out everything else later. If you need examples of my past work, I can send you a simple pdf. porfolio. I'm still working on my online portfolio, I'm afraid.

it looks like csb is interested - why dont you call him? sorry you're only 13 and we're being so hard you. lol.
but i'm glad you're taking the initiative. have you tried asking some fellow 13 year old at your school who might be interested in drawing a few things for you? this forum is for professional artists, but dont worry - I don't think anyone took offense.
Um, try writing a little poster or advertisement (in crayon is fine) for your school bulletin board, and try to get some responses locally. There are lots of talented 13 year olds out there, and in fact, I was pretty talented at 13. maybe if you approached me about it, I might have helped you out then. Why don't u try it?
good luck.

chew_man3,
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED ABOUT THIS! Believe it or not, you're learning something!
When the time comes that you have something of value... oh, let's say your music, and you run into someone who enjoys your talents, and wants to make money off of what you've produced, but that person doesn't want to pay you for the use of your work, only then might you start to understand why we 'greedy' artists are making such a fuss out of all this.
Believe it or not, even though it was all fun for everyone to download songs for free off of Napster, that was an example of everyone stealing. If your music that you worked so very hard for was available for CD sales in stores, and someone was downloading it for free, then you would be cheated out of your rightful profits.
There must always be a value attributed to a product that you create. You must learn how products are made into money, whether it's your music or someone's artwork that helps people in the record stores interested in simply picking up your CD to consider buying it. Once you appreciate that services have value, and once you learn how everything is interconnected in business, then you're going to be so much wiser when you start to distribute and sell your music.
I know all this must feel overwhelming to you, and it is. But once the initial shock is over, then you will be less ignorant as to how everything works. Then you will have more confidence in yourself and be more in control of your product, and how it is sold.
Even though you're only 13, this is great practice for you! You don't want to wait until you're 18 and only then start figuring all this stuff out, do you? That's like starting to run a race 5 minutes after the starting gun went off.
The only way to learn is to do, and you were doing that by asking for help in the first place. I hope you absorb what everyone's saying, and understand the complexities that are involved in even the most simple of business transactions.
Don't freak out, or let this make you think that it's too difficult or frustrating to follow through with.
Hey, I bet you know someone in your school that futzes around with Photoshop on his/her computer. This person might want to help you out by making your CD cover for you. While you're getting your experience working on your music, your friend can get his/her experience working on graphics! Hey, I used to spend regular times with a friend where he would just write, and I would just draw, making it one big creative experience.
Good luck!

I just thought that someone who draw it and put it on here and I could take it and put it on Itunes and on my CD. Oh well, guess that's not gonna happen.
