Nice new sketchbook, some great anatomy sketches and strange ideas.
"Raping Dead Girls" huh, strange but amusing.

Any reason for the lack of hands? If it's a problem area, then you need MORE hands.

Keep posting and I'll keep checking them out.

I was going to say the same thing, your forarms seem a bit short, if you look at a lot of my concepts I seem to do the opposite by making the forarms to long. Great start again, Great start to a new book. Cheers

Nice update, man! There are some very strong character designs in that last post of yours. The girl's armor design is very fun, like bradley said. Improbable to the extreme, but very fun. I especially like her boots. Some anatomy crits: Her breasts look a little funny. I don't know what's wrong with them, but they don't seem exactly right. Her torso from below her breasts to her pelvis seems too short. Her left forearm is also too short, as are her lower legs. The dude next to her is another fantastic character design. His costume, accessories, and expression/pose have a nice personality about them. You seem to struggle with hands and feet, though. In particular, you seem to have a habit of making them too small. The foreshortening of the feet is also off. The pencil work on his shirt is also a bit sloppy.
Sweet colors on the last image!

Your pencils really are something else... and your characters fucking rock. If i could get some of your fluidity... wow, inspirational.

The character in; http://conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=173661&stc=1&d=1185208851

I think your coloring in your previous update suits your style more than the most recent stuff. In this update the coloring looks a bit muddy, gogo add more highlights!

Great stuff. The girl with the shorts on is so awesome -- that's maybe the most finished drawing I've seen from you, and you nailed it. I've love to see more stuff taken to this level. I agree with Jens, though, that your colors aren't up to the level of your drawing. Put some more work in there (it looks like you may need to study up on values), and you'll be formidable indeed.

Oh and bfore I forget when we both are going to school we might exchange interesting class exercises, like graphical stuff and the not so obvious ways to practice. that could give us both a nice push. :)

aaaaand ONE crit. on the B&W dude with the glasses the greytone around his teeth (pencil or smudged black?) is just making it look dirty in my opinion, if you wanna use greyscale in it however make it an even plain of colour ( a bit like a vector) :D but you'll be able to figur something yourself I'm sure. :)

thats my boy :D

thought you were goin' thru a CA disintoxication period, but is cool to see ya update.
'bout the first one, for some reason it doesn't look "from life to me.Or at least, for me "from life" means a precise copy or sketch of what you see.In my opinion, in that first one you did it while looking at something, but you filled up some bits with what you THINK you were seeying. At last, thats what happens to me some times too.Dunno, maybe i'm talkin' bullshit.

Weirdo sketches are cool as usual. My absollute favs in these update s are the screaming chick+boner bear pic, very cool expression on that one.DI you ever check out Jamie HEwlett's work btw? he's the guy that did Tank Girl n Gorillaz, anyway. He does some pretty cool stuff you might like, and he's got an excellent sense of graphic design too.
Second favoutite is that mech-armor design sketch.Cool to see you worked on a simmetrical design, looks very good imho.
Still curious to know what you're up to man, so you'd better switch on that msn again soon :D

seeya Alex, keep on rockin'

I think you may benefit from experimenting with watercolors as most of your colored works have a very consistently soft transition between colors. While that can be alright for a lot of situations, you still need hard shadows with hard edges here and there.

You seem to show a huge command of line and value placement however so i think when you get that to translate over to color you will excel exponentially.

Konstruktion

New Sketchbook I see. Still love your old one:P Cant beat away those turtles you draw, hehe. All Star From, because I always favoured mad perspective with action "muscle" packed drawings. WoooT!

I like the work on storytelling lately...its got to be something hard to perfect, communicating as much as possible with a single frame! I'm pretty positive I've commented before, and if not, shame on me! (too lazy to search though the previous pages haha...though I could have done it in the time I typed this out). I kind of shrug at the porn stuff, you'll probably learn as much from tasteful things no??

One thing I've noticed is that the hang proportions/expressions could use some more attention...sometimes they are small, or feel unimportant to the figures. Anyways lets see some more cool stuff soon.

More often than not i start headfirst, which is really bad as most of my drawings end up as busts. I quite like chest first as i can keep a good flow and follow a center line... whenever ive attempted to start with the feet i generally got lost and balls up scale. Man i should study some more Hogarth. I tried to follow his grid system for putting people into deep space and got lost at how it works, i really dont think much of his book for explaining things verbally Id say the pictures do most of the talkin.

Im in awe of the perspective you get into your pictures and more importantly your people, so if youre going to adjust your process id love to see, could help me out tons.

Your sketchbook is getting pretty damn impressive. Love the artwork and style, BUT would love to see something more rendered, more tonal pencil work perhaps (no outline).

If your bored, take it up as a challenge. Give me a challenge back if you want.

I love your drawings, especially the one with the head collage then the guy saying "wtf!?"

You contour drawings are pretty good, did you look at the paper for most of them? I know we used to have to do exercises where we weren't allowed to look at the paper.

Can't wait for more.
