Well, I'm working on my website and using Dreamweaver 6.0 to do it and I'm running into a problem that perhaps someone can help me with. Here it is broken down simply and in a nutshell:

Let's just say I have 3 pages so far in my website, "MAIN", "PG1", and "PG2". I have a link from MAIN to PG1 and from PG1 back to MAIN and those links work fine. My problem comes when I place an arrow graphic on PG1 and link it to PG2 so that when clicked on you proceed from PG1 to PG2. For some reason the link works but my images don't load! I've checked my file names and folder hierarchy, I've redesigned the page a bit and re-inserted elements several times to reassure myself that I've done nothing wrong, but nothing seems to be working concerning the images. Also, when tested, PG2 works on its own and seems fine. All I get when trying to proceed on to PG2 is a page that the graphics won't load on (the little X boxes of doom!) I've run a link check on the entire site and no problems come up. The links actually work, you just can't see any images.

I know this is a very specific problem, but I thought I'd post here just in case someone had run into the same thing. I don't know HTML which is why I'm using Dreamweaver, it does it all for you, but if anyone has any suggestions I'd would be very happy to hear them!!!! Before I PULL EVERY HAIR OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!

Thanks!

hey smeag. I don't consider myyself a web dev'r at all, but when I run into a problem like this, I switch the screen in Dreamweaver to view the source and compare the code to the page that does work. It can be a pain in the ass, but it's sort of a really difficult matching game and I usually find my problems that way. wish I could be more help to you.

I have run into this problem before and it is usually because rather than refer to the image relative to the sites root it is refering to the image directly on my harddrive. In Dreamweaver, it may look like it is linking through your site root but sometimes it doesn't. Not sure why.

That's what has happened to me before. And it's a simple answer but one I occassionally overlook.

You could also upload the images you want to use directly to your website and reference the image by it's URL.

Hope that helps.

Wow, talk about quick and correct support!!! I really appreciate your help! Apparently when inserting some of my elements a "/" character was added and was screwing everything up. The combination of comparing code to the pages that work and how Dreamweaver was referring to the files selected was the perfect advice and direction for me and I think I solved my problem...until the next one comes along. Heh heh!

Thanks so much guys! I appreciate it. You have prevented those many grey hairs from appearing on my head! LOL!
