This is my first attempt at digital painting. Not sure what I'm doing, just took a rough sketch into Photoshop and started, not even sure on my style yet, I guess that doesn't really matter yet.
This is Davros from Doctor Who. Any critiques, lighting? I'm not sure about the metal for the bottom, just started on the hand, but don't think it looks right and still need to add control switches.
thanks for your time.

Whoa Doctor Who! -luff-
Anyway for critique is looks like you're using the burn/dodge tool a lot for lighting, particually on the metal and clothing. Try picking colours and painting them on and then blending them in with the smudge tool, it just looks more natural in my opinion because it allows for variation in colour and looks less...I dunno...patchy? I think the metal and clothing need more definiation too, more folds and creases in the clothes, especially around the armpits and elbows

As far as the hand goes, you've drawn all the fingers as being the same length when they aren't. Also, the bumper on the right hand side seems higher in places then on the left hand side.
