Hey all. I recently did this for fun. But I'm not liking it too much.......for some reason I find it really busy. And some of the forms aren't very resolved.....but I'll try and colour it soon....see what happens....I was thinking it terms of more of a flying mecha than a ship really.....reminds me a lot of Bobba Fett's ship now that I think about it!
Anyway Hope you guys/gals enjoy:)

Here's a very early stage...of pushing volume a little more...more colour on the way.

Lookin good, from ur posts i see u definetly got a style goin for urself and u have an eye for detail and functionality which is important so what i would do is if i didnt like it id move on to a new sketch but if u do like it then try to color it, maybe try to color in a medium u have never used before or do something new with your ideas. the possibilities are endless for what u could come up with. nice work

Cool ship man. I think the main reason it looks busy is the sillouette is a bit unclear. If you took off that engine housing/blaster array sticking out from the left side (our left), it would read much more clearly. Also, you change line wieghts in the middle of the right side, which makes it confusing as to where that part is sitting in relation to the rest of the ship. It looks like it's sticking out, but the lighter lines push it back into the form.
Cool design though, and good job on the perspective.

Don't you think it would be horribly unbalanced if he took off that gun-array on our left though?
I don't think it's worth doing considering the detail and quality of this rendering, but if you want to make this composition perfect, I'd recommend rotating the entire ship slightly left (from the pilot's perspective) so that lower stabilizer wing will come into view and give us some awsome targeting.

This is a cool design! I like it's somewhat assymetrical looks... You screwed the perspective on the second one when you added something to the top fins, you might wanna check that.
If you want it to have more of a sillouhett you might wanna add more line weights to the detailed guns on the ships left side.

The only problems I'm seeing have been touched on by previous posters:
Sammy's right about the top fins' perspective.
The different treatment of the middle-side gun blasters is confusing. Personally, I'd like to see the near side of the ship's gun have the same clam-shell enclosure as the far side.
I really dig the insect carapace shapes you build into your mech designs. Looking forward to seeing this one colored!
