Took me about 15hours.
No reference used, but some own zoo-lifedrawing-studies as ref for the lynx.

Very beautiful scenery going on here. I love it! I hate to critique the lynx, as i probably know very little about its anatomy, but for some reason his hind legs look a little odd to me, not sure why. Anyway this is an awesome piece of work, i'd love to see more!

Wonderful piece! I don't have a crit just a suggestion. Maybe you could come up with a way to give the mountains a bit of color so that the piece gets more depth. You know when object are farther away they get lighter and tend to blend with the background. Give it try.
But the piece is great as it is.

Great picture! I really like how you handled the rocks and the water, I wish I could do this in a similar way. You´re really good with landscapes!
Only thing I could critizise at the moment would be that the focal point is a bit weak. At the moment the value of all the elements in the painting are quite the same. Maybe putting some more light on the lynx would make it a stronger focal point. But maybe that´s just my personal preference.
Keep up the good work

my onion:
i think it is really busy, too much small details and lack of variation for larger compositional movement.
its rendered very well and you are a talented artist. i feel this painting is okay.

I would have stopped at the lightening of the trees in the foreground. They look smeary as opposed to a shaft of light over the tree. The view out into the mountains is nice. The tree on the left foreground cuts out where the river flows that way. The river would feel more powerful if there was more of it and in some way showing it's power against that stone bluff it looks like it runs into. Splashes or undercutting the bluff or something.
I really like the mountains and stone textures.
I am curious, I saw another pic similar to this, a nice landscape with an animal in the foreground. Is that a style or somthing that is taught in school?
I ask because the scenery in both pics is so attractive that the animal appears as an afterthought. The animal interferes with the sense of serenity that the scenery evokes. It feels like the artist my have the idea that plants and rocks and sky are "boring" without some type of animal.
I could look out on that vista for an hour it is so appealing.

I feel like there's a small problem with the perspective of the cat vs the background.....I some see the cat a a really big cat with a small scene.....but that's just me. The cat seems to dwarf the background and makes it less dramatic.
But I do like the detialing of the background....well done....looks convincing!

Firstof all thx all! :)
I have to agree with all critiques, but its ok as it is i think, and im not going to change things anymore.
But you dont have to wait as long for a next (better) one(in which i try to avoid same cirtique-points.). ;)
Howdy, well, i really like to paint landscapes. And i go to the zoo often to sketch animals as a lifedrawingstudy.
And well, i think, just landscapes without anything is a bit boring, yes! An animal, some people, a building, vehicles, or perhaps just a leaved coke-can lying on the ground can make the difference between a boring and an interesting artwork, just because it brings life into a scenery.
And im sure, without this lynx, this picture would be not as attractive.
