I like your loose interpretation of very sharp geometric forms....(wishes he was back in Germany again):), as far as the marker layovers go keep it up! Try to decrease the opacity as space receeds back to give a better sense of depth though!
*hint* Line pressure also helps atmospheric perspective too ;)
