Sorry to start a whole thread for this one question, but can anyone explain what an equity contract is? I tried to simply look it up but couldn't find a clear answer. Thanks guys -

I worked for one before -- essentially, the more you do the more interest in the company your working for you earn. There are many different versions and situations that offer them -- usually start-ups. If you go for one, make sure the company is well-funded enough to promote and complete the deal that makes that sort of thing pay off.

Yep, working against shares of a company. It's a bit speculative since the majority of start ups don't last 3 years, so you get between 0 and a whole big lot (if, say, the company turns out like Google.)
