Okay, so earlier today I told Bengal that I'm not a fan of fanart, then I turn around and do a picture of Batman. So I'm a jackass, and I appologize. This was inspired by "Batman, Dead End", a rather killer short film. I sketched it, scanned it, and colored it in Photoshop, then did the highlights in Painter.

the pic is definitely sweet as hell, love the sword and the lighting is right on. Only two things that rub me wrong; the hand placement, i guess its the angle, it doesn't jive with the shoulder. The second is the cape draped across the over-hang, I think its possibly a combination of the lack of contrast against the wall and the tangent created with the inner, right side of the cape hanging over the support arch.
All else is money, expecially the mask, those ears are really awesome.

It's a good start. I think you could have achieved the same kind of highlights in PS7 as well without having to go to Painter....but you could use whatever you want.....it's just an extra process....minor really.

I'm taking all your suggestions and crits into consideration and re coloring the piece. it IS pretty dark, though I like that, but I think I'll just spend some more time on it. I had never done a Batman pic before, even though he's one of my favorite characters, so I was still trying to get the Dark Knight mood. I think I've got a better grasp on that, so we'll see what I come up with next. Cheers all! And thanks a ton.
