Heya gang,
I'm working on a new personal project, and I was wondering if I could get some c&c on this figure.
I was trying to give him a solidly feral look, and I wanted him to be lean - almost gaunt (as though he had been living off the land for quite some time).
Does anyone have any suggestions for making him look more 'animalistic'? Is my anatomy decent?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hey Patch, concept looks clean. If you're going for a more feral look, how about giving him a canine head? I don't know if you were trying to keep him human, but just looking feral. Regardless, fur around the shoulders adds to the look. If you want, you can give his head a triangular shape (by adding to the hair - think wolverine, or a dog with a trimmed afro).
His biceps could use a bit more meat, as well as the forearms. His torso looks short, but I'm not sure if that's because of his pose and the viewing angle. That's about as far as I'd go for anatomy, mine isn't too sharp :/
Hope that helped, good luck.
If anything sounds confusing.. I apologize it's about 6 am in the morning... I was up playing vice city - err I'm rambling.

hi,
if he is a bestmaster, he should have something that connects him to the beasts he is supposed to master. A skull from a wolf, some feathers in his hair or some big carnivore teeth in a necklace.. you get the point.
Also. He should have some symbol of power to show that he is the master. A whip, a crown or just a big poking stick. Thats what i think atleast.
Other than that, its a clean goodlooking drawing. Lets see some more.

I'd go out and look at pictures of homeless people, mountain men, and the like. The figure in the drawing looks too clean and pretty to have lived off the land. He's probably have wareable tools, skins, and trinkets of absolutely no significance to anyone but him. He's a survivalist. Maybe he has scars. Matted hair.
if you were to go outside and roll around in the mud for several days, bathe in the stream, not comb your hair, hunt and chase animals through the spiny brush for food, sleep in fear that a big, toothy mouth may eat you befor you wake... that's what he should look like.

Wow. Thanks for the speedy reply guys!
Sic1 - I like the idea about the head. I want to keep it humanoid- but I am going to play around with his hair/beard to see if I could give it a little more of an angled feel. I do want to keep from giving the arms too much meat though - wild things tend to be on the thin side...
OLSEN - good idea - I like the 'symbol of power' - going to add that.
johnsaulrubio - you've got a lot of great info here. I had removed some of the 'wearable tools' etc from an original sketch, but I think that it's time to put it back. As a side note- I checked out your website, and I love it - nice and clean and _very_ effective. If I was in the position to - I would hire ya!
Again - thanks guys - I will post updates here....

I recommend having the creature be more hunched over, as if he might sometimes walk on all fours....
Nice creature though....
