Haven't dropped by here in a while. Started this one earlier this month. I haven't been able to get back to this image for awhile, just spent a few hours today blocking out the BG. Have some details to put in yet; grass, more shadows, wood texures, etc.

Meant to put this in the WORK IN PROGRESS section. Should I delete the thread and repost in the proper place?

nah.
Anyway I like it and *now* understand you're still working on it. I prefer the sketch so far tho.

i took the freedom to move your thread in the wip section, as you wished.
it's a pretty interesting work. nothing in the anatomy is really off, even though the style itself is probably a bit too picky.
now you should probably try to analyse the shadows and bright balance of the image, as these areas will determine your compo. it will be hard to add shadows, as you'll have difficulties spreading black surfaces on such defined areas, but it will help you getting an even more impressive image that will please the eye. very nice work.

Thanks sparth for moving it here, should have done it from the start. As for shadows and contrast, that is definately the plan as I move forward. If 'too picky' means that I'm putting in too much detail, well you're absolutely right. She is to be the focal point and the surroundings should be less detailed. Thanks for the observation.
egerie: thanks to you as well. I always enjoy the sketches myself. You may also be refering to how tight I'm working in the coloring process. I intend to loosen up for the BG.
