Brief description:
Shards of Enigma is a free massively multiplayer online game set in a futuristic universe full of rich planets, unique races, sleek weapons, powerful magic, and numerous quests based on a compelling story that drives the game forward. It can be played through a small downloadable client which you can use to connect to our servers and enjoy our galaxy in any way.
Set in the distant future, this innovative and original MUD hosts a bunch of exciting features:
Custom client, graphics, sound, interactive interface, unique races, space travel, and much more.
Central to everything is our unique "Shards System", enabling players to control every aspect of their characters.
We want our players to take part in our progressing storyline. Every once in a while, we release a chapter of the story written for Shards of Enigma -- a story written by you. This story will move forward depending on the actions that you, the players, take. Along with the chapter, we will add new content to the game, such as new quests or new areas. Depending on what course of action you take in these quests, or what you find in the areas, this will determine how the next chapter is written. The possibilities are endless!

Compensation:
This is a spare time project and the game will be free to play, therefore no compensation will be offered. We will, however, be offering anyone who joins us the following:
- Leading positions in the game once it goes online, provided they stay with us.
- Proper credits: We will give you credit for anything you make for the game. We will list your name, contact details and your website (if you have one) on our site. We will keep this information on our site regardless of whether you stay with us or not.
- Creative freedom to build areas from your imagination
- An opportunity to be a part of the best MUD team around ;)
Technology:
Our head artist is designing and creating most of the areas in the game, and we therefore require an artist who is mainly interested in making character pics, of both humans and aliens. Whichever software you are most comfortable with using will be fine.
Talents needed:
Character Artist: We are in need of an artist to create character art for both humans and aliens (player controlled) and for monsters (npcs). See screenshot below for a small sample.
Should you have an interest in building as well, by all means; join us! You need no programming skills to join us. Our game offers a unique easy-to-use building engine which allows for building areas directly into the game. All you need is creativity and a good imagination! Join us and watch your own ideas come to life instantly.
